Benjamin Alderman

–

Lincoln, Nebraska

Benjamin Mark Alderman, 54, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at his home in Lincoln.

Ben was born on March 16, 1972, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Mark and Cindy Alderman. He spent his life in the state he loved, growing up hunting, fishing, playing sports, and embracing the new adventures that life brought his way. He had a deep love for his family, his children, the Los Angeles Rams, Doane University, and University of Nebraska athletics.

Those who knew Ben will remember his kindness, humor, intelligence and the way he showed up for the people he loved. He had a gift for supporting others through difficult times, offering understanding and compassion when they needed it most. He loved deeply, found humor in everyday moments, and cared genuinely about the people in his life.

Ben's legacy will be that of a man who kept getting back up and moving forward, no matter what life brought his way. He faced challenges with resilience and, through it all, found reasons to love, experience joy, and appreciate the people and moments that mattered most.

Ben is survived by his children, Sabrina and Sam; his mother, Cindy, and husband, Curtis; his brother, Danny, and wife Natalie; his sister, Sara, and husband Matt; his niece and nephews, Sloan, Tyson, and Henry; and longtime special friend, Sheena. Ben also left behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that became family. He was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his father, Mark, and his grandparents, Merlin, Donna, and Doris, whom he had missed deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 17 from 2:30–5:00 p.m. at The Meeting Place, 2748 S St., Lincoln, Nebraska. Ben was known for his big smile, great tan and a well-worn Ram’s t-shirt. In his honor, we encourage casual attire, just as Ben would have been most comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Meeting Place, a community that was an important part of Ben’s life and a source of connection and support through many of his life’s experiences.

Ben will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ben would want us to take comfort in knowing he is at peace.
