Brett Wood

Brett Douglas Wood was born January 29th, 1962, in Long Beach, California, to Tracy D. and Norma (Nagler) Wood, and passed away September 25, 2026, at Holmes Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Brett was a very talented sketch artist and especially enjoyed sharing them with family. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking. He fulfilled his passion by graduating from Southeast Community College with a degree in Hospitality and Management, focusing on the business side of the food industry.

Brett struggled with addiction for most of his life, but found love for God in the last few years of his life. Even through his struggles, he loved his family.

He is survived by his children, Mindy, Douglas and Emily; parents, Tracy and Sharon Wood; brothers Robert and Michael “Butch” Wood and sister Jennifer King; step-brothers, Wade and Reed Whitworth; grandchildren Alyssa, Tysen, Carsen and Zayden, Jaylin and Emilia.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Harwood, grandparents, Elma Van Nortwick and Dale Wood, and sister-in-law Laurie Ann Wood.

A memorial will be held October 23 rd, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Northern Lighthouse
