Calvin E. Murray

Calvin E. Murray, 94, of Lincoln, NE passed away at his home on December 19, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Calvin was born March 13, 1925 to Ada & Edward Murray in Nehawka, Nebraska

He joined the US Army on July 11, 1944 and defended his country in WWII.

He married Alice (Sue) Price in 1952. He worked for Sears for many years before retiring. Calvin enjoyed fishing, playing pitch and cheering for the Huskers.

He is survived by his son, Bruce Murray; daughter, Cathy Vansickle; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Murray, Candace Sturgeon, Stephanie Smith and Brian Murray; 8 great-grandchildren, Stephen Miskowic, Daniel Miskowic, Jay Smith, Taren Murray, Samantha Cox, Brandon Sturgeon, Remington Murray and Chase Sturgeon and 3 great-great grandchildren, Sofia Miskowic , Scarlett Cox and Dean Miskovic.

Calvin will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 12 noon. If you plan to attend, please meet with the family at Gate 2 of the cemetery prior to 12.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 11am to 2 PM at Autumn Wood Community Center (5633 N 26th Place).
