Daniel Martin

Daniel “Dan” Robert Martin, age 58 of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on September 27, 2026. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to Barbara and Alex Martin but grew up in the Ceresco, Nebraska area.

Dan attended Raymond Central High School where he enjoyed sports, band, his classes, and friendships with teammates and classmates. He was a captain of the football team, was elected homecoming king in his senior year and was an excellent student and a member of the National Honor Society. Dan enjoyed teasing his parents with his choice in music(volume), video games, and minibikes.

He had an affinity for computers at a young age, participating in science fairs, technology projects, and programming. Dan studied Computer Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1991.

Dan helped at his family’s orchard over the years. Everything he did was done with careful attention to the task and awareness of those around him. Dan enjoyed being around his family and reminiscing about pranks or silly things when he was growing up.

Dan was an empathetic, conscientious, and gentle soul.

Dan is survived by his parents, Barbara and Alex Martin; His siblings, Christy Martin, Deb and husband Rob Kobza, Scott Martin and wife Tiffany, Jennifer and husband Matt Goff. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews – Josh and wife Laney Kobza, Cassidy Kobza, Hailey Kobza, Lily Martin, and Jack Martin.
