Daniel Eugene Runyan

Daniel Eugene Runyan, 65, of Lincoln passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Born to Ivan and Esther (Farquhar) Runyan on September 15, 1949 in Clarinda, Iowa. He graduated from South Page High School in 1967, attended Iowa Western Community College and graduated from Iowa State University in 1971.

Dan and Suzanne Shaff married in August, 1972. They bought the Harold Martin farm in 1974.

He raised hogs and farmed in Page County, Iowa; operated his own airplane charter company in Iowa and flew commercially in Europe and Lincoln, NE.
He lived in Germany from 1998 - 2000.

In 2006 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clarkson College, Omaha in radiologic technology.
Dan died an accidental death in his home in Lincoln, NE. He was 65 years old.

He is survived by his siblings Carolyn Dawkins of Shenandoah, Iowa; Martha (Randy) Towne of Lafayette, Colorado; Randy Runyan and XiPing Peng of Iowa City, Iowa and Beijing, China; great nephew C.J. Dawkins of Chicago, Illinois. Dan is also survived by a large extended family and many friends throughout the world.

Preceding him in death were his parents Ivan and Esther Runyan; brother-in law Claude Dawkins.

He will be remembered for his love of humor, music, and classic Volkswagens.

Graveside service at 11 AM, Saturday July 4th at Maple Hill Cemetery, College Springs, Iowa. 12 PM food and fellowship at the College Springs Community Hall.
