Donald L. Heyen, 67, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at the Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln, Nebraska.\n\nFuneral service is 11:00 am, Monday, January 20, 2020, at Elevate Church, 8251 Pioneers Blvd. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5844 Fremont St.\n\nMemorials can be directed to his family for a later designation.\n\nDonald was born September 8, 1952, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of Leo David and Bernice Marie (Imig) Heyen. He graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1970. Donald married Erla Ellis on July 4, 1971, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He worked at T.O. Haas Tire in Lincoln for 30 years. Donald enjoyed coin collecting, golfing, watching Formula One racing, and was a Yankees fan.\n\nDonald is survived by his wife of 48 years, Erla Heyen; children, Lisa Heyen, Sandra (Daniel) Phelps, and Mike Heyen; seven grandchildren, Corey, Chris (Brittany), Sarah, Ashley, Zachary (Ashlea), Tristan, and Grace; and nine great-grandchildren, Tyrese, Harmony, Bentley, Brayden, Jaiden, Josey, Rosalie, Jordan, and London.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jim Heyen.
