Fredolin "Freddie" Murphy

–

Lincoln, Nebraska

It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Fredolin “Freddie” Murphy, at the age of 87, on October 19, 2025.

Freddie, a woman whose giving nature, strength, and unwavering kindness touched all who knew her, peacefully left us surrounded by family and the memories of a life well-lived.

Freddie was born on November 26, 1937, in Great Falls Montana, to the late William and Florence Collins. She grew up with a deep love for her family and the simple pleasures of life. After losing her mother at a young age, Freddie assumed the motherly role to her younger brothers, nurturing and caring for them — she carried these same nurturing qualities with her throughout her years.

A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Freddie’s life was a testament to the power of love and compassion. She married the love of her life, Charles “Bud” Murphy, in 1958, and together they had three beautiful children; Patti Ann, Tammy Jo and Michael Charles. Charles preceded her in death in 1985, and her heart remained forever intertwined with his, even after his passing.
Freddie was a mother of remarkable patience and wisdom, raising three children who were blessed to have her as their guiding light. Her children were her greatest joy, and she cherished watching them grow into the loving individuals they are today. She was also a proud grandmother to eight cherished grandchildren, each of whom she had a hand in raising and caring for in their younger years. They were truly the light of her life.

As Freddie embarks on her next journey in heaven, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and generosity that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and all her dear friends who considered her a second mother and grandmother.

Freddie is survived by her children, Patti Murphy and Michael Murphy of Lincoln, NE; son-in-law, John Bandars of Lincoln, NE; her 8 grandchildren; Cortney (Lance) Bos, Tim (Courtney) and Zach (Dallas) Ritchie; Ben (Britney), Jonathan and Christopher Bandars; and Amber and Josh Murphy all of Lincoln, NE; 13 great grandchildren; her brother, William (Billy) Collins of Great Falls, MT; Brother in law, Pat (Janet) Murphy of Fort Scott, KS; Sister in law, Maxine Douglas of Cave Creek, AZ; several nieces and nephews and countless friends and loved ones whose lives she touched in ways both big and small. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Murphy; her daughter, Tammy Bandars; her parents, William and Florence Collins; Father and Mother in law, Timothy and Lillian Murphy; her dear brothers, Bobby, Jackie and Donald Collins; and her sister in law, Mary Margaret (Margie) Albright.

A Celebration of Freddie’s life will be held on November 29th, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Isle’s Reception hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may kindly be made to the family to be donated to a charity of choice at a later date.

Freddie was, and always will be, a light in the lives of those she loved. May her memory continue to inspire us to live with love, grace, and generosity.
