Gustaves M Thompson Obituary (1986 - 2024)

Gustaves was born on January 25, 1986, in Lincoln, NE to Tracy and James Thompson. Gus lived most of his life in Lincoln, NE, he attended Huntington Elementary School where he caught his first glimpse of the girl who would end up stealing his heart, years later. Gus attended Lincoln East High School when fate brought him face to face with the girl, he met all those years ago. They went on a date, on September 10, 2003 and little did he know that day would change his and her life forever. After graduation, Gus went to Pine Ridge Job Corps. Gus then landed a position as a technician for Paul Davis Restoration. Gus knew right from the start he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Zana (Zay), so in May 2010 he took the leap and asked her to marry him. Gus and Zana bought their first home together in 2011 and just one year later, on August 5, 2012, they got married in front of all their family and friends. Gus received his associate degree from SCC, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Insurance, and then he obtained a bachelor’s degree in project management from Bellevue University. Gus later started working for Service Master Restore of Lincoln and eventually became a Project Manager. Gus and Zay have 2 huskies Jordan and Akita, which became Gus’s pride and joy. The years to follow would bring tons of joy, heartbreak, laughter, and tears; with many fertility treatments, adding their godchildren A’lexus and Teyler, their niece Lucy and nephew Lucas. Gus was a great Godfather and took the role with pride. He was always there for anything and everything that the girls would need or want. Gus loved spoiling the people he loved most in life. Whether it was Pokémon cards, Dragon Ball Z, Lorcana, jewelry, kitchen and cooking ware, big extravagant stuffed animals, trips, etc. He loved to make people laugh, just being silly whenever he had the chance. His nights were spent on the couch with his wife seeing what new shows they could find; and when he was not at work you could find him around the house trying to find his next project or outside playing with all the kids; and Saturday evenings...well you couldn’t find him or Alex unless you made a trip to Hobby Town. Gus is Survived by his wife, Zana Thompson. Godchildren A’lexus Ogden and Teyler Ogden. - who were were affectionately known as his “munchkins” Sisters, Mahala Morrissey (Michael), Tricia Kenney, Vanessa Garcia, and Emily Sidders (Eli). Brothers DJ Thompson (Misty) Alex Ogden. Nieces Audrena Thompson and Lucy Fox, Nephew Lucas Fox. His in-laws Tammy and Damon Schleicher, His mother Tracy and sister-in-law Miranda McClees, and many others. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, and stepfather Don.
