Raymond, Nebraska
Holly Ann Woldt, 69, of Raymond, Nebraska, passed away on September 8, 2026, leaving this earthly life and entering the Kingdom of Heaven. Born September 4, 1957, in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, Holly was adopted by her mother, Eloise Johnson (Sybil), and father, Worth Johnson, and spent much of her childhood in Virginia and Hawaii, graduating from Kailua High School.
Holly was accepted to the University of Iowa, where she graduated with degrees in Political Science and Computer Science before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, to begin a career in information technology. She was employed by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, when she met and later married Wayne. Together they raised their three children, Weston, Dylan, and Cara on an acreage near Raymond. Holly devoted all of her time to being a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Part of her devotion to her children included stepping aside from her career to be a stay-at-home Mom for 8 years, seeking to shepherd her three children through their early years. Upon returning to work, Holly took a position at the United Methodist Conference, and then transitioned to the Nebraska Library Commission, with expertise in information technologies. Toward the later part of her career, Holly was awarded the prestigious title of Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska, in recognition for her leadership in helping rural libraries modernize their technologies and access the internet. Holly retired from the workforce in late 2023.
Holly’s years in Hawaii fostered a lifelong love of learning, adventure and the outdoors. As a young girl and young woman, she learned the complex and intriguing dance of Hula, and anytime a good Hawaiian song was played, she would start dancing. Holly was a lifelong Girl Scout, rising through all the levels and reaching the highest achievement of the Gold Award. She was a competitive swimmer, and developed a strong sense of adventure, working on her sailing badge by ocean sailing all around the Hawaiian Islands. Holly was also blessed with a green thumb, cultivating her plants and flowers on her porch and in front of her home, which she called Holly’s Garden, where she would watch sunrises, humming birds, and nature at it finest.
One of Holly’s greatest joys were her grandchildren, Eloise and Emerson. She loved them dearly, and proudly proclaimed herself as Nana Banana. She often would go above and beyond in her silliness, and claimed it was her right to be zany because after all, she was Nana Banana. Holly delighted in any activities with them. Be it playing a game, reading a book, building blanket forts, puppet show productions, viewing gymnastics or dance practices and recitals, swimming and building sand castles on the beach, celebrating the milestones and birthdays - she was always there and ready to join in the fun.
Holly was a woman of strong faith and was an active member of Raymond United Methodist Church, now Raymond Community Church, for more than 30 years. She gently encouraged her children through Confirmation to help them form a foundation in faith. Holly was also a dedicated member of the Raymond Women’s Club and enjoyed contributing her time and talents to her community.
Throughout her life, Holly found joy in travel, sailing, swimming, sewing, gardening, cooking, the outdoors, animals, and, above all, time spending with family and friends. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, creativity, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her. Holly leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, and service, and a life that made the world a better place.
Holly is survived by her husband of 41 years, Wayne Woldt of Raymond, Nebraska; her son, Weston Woldt of Charlotte, North Carolina; her son Dylan Woldt (Zoey) of Aurora, Colorado; her daughter Cara Roesler (Brandon) of Lincoln, Nebraska; and her beloved grandchildren Eloise and Emerson. She was preceded in death by her father, Worth Johnson; mother, Eloise Johnson; brother David Johnson; and brother Kenneth Johnson; as well as many relatives in both Germany and the United States.
A celebration of Holly’s life will be held 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Raymond Community Church, 14750 3rd Street, Raymond, NE 68428.
