Jim Lord died Friday; January 31, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years young. Born March 14, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa to George and Althea (Burnett) Lord. He married Leann (Plegge) Lord July 11, 1987.\n\nHe worked for KETV as a transmitter engineer in Lincoln, also in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a teacher at Gateway College who taught DOS on the computer and Basic Electronics. His last job was at Teledyne - Isco.\n\nJim is survived by his wife Leann. Jim has 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sister, Brenda (Lord) McDole, brothers; Frederick (Barbara) Lord and George (Barbara) Lord. Preceded in death by his parents George and Althea (Burnett) Lord; daughters Jennifer (Lord) Bond, and Latrice (Lord) Shaner, brother in law Lloyd McDole.\n\nA celebration of Jim's life will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 640 N 56th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family. Lunch will be served.
