James "Jim" Earl Sparks, 70, of Lincoln peacefully passed away January 26, 2022 after a short battle with lung cancer. Born January 6, 1952 in Des Plaines, Illinois. Early in his life he moved to Lincoln where he lived most of his life.\n\nJim was active in AA where he made many lifelong friends. He had a very welcoming smile and never met a stranger.\n\nJim graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971. He then served in the US Army. Following his service he worked at Jacob North Printing, State of Nebraska Print Shop and after retirement, worked part time as a security officer.\n\nLeft to cherish his memory is his brother, Mitchell Fitzwater and many, many friends.\n\nJim was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his sister, Paula (Sparks) Hardesty.\n\nPer Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place.
