Janice C. Lewis, 67, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Southlake Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.\n\nMemorial service is 11:00am, Saturday, February, 18, 2017 at Northwest Church of Christ, 3110 N 1st St., Lincoln, Nebraska. In honoring her wish to be cremated there is no visitation. Lincoln Family Funeral Care is handling arrangements.\n\nMemorials may be directed to the Lincoln Northwes Church of Christ.\n\nJanice C. Lewis was born July 21, 1949 in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Pauline (Boster) Brown. She graduated from Fredonia High School with the class of 1967. Janice received her BA, English Literature with a minor in Library Science from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. She married Ronald Lewis on May 16, 1971 in Pittsburg, Kansas.\n\nJanice taught high school English in Pittsburg, Kansas before moving to New Jersey where she worked for Ohaus Scale as an industrial librarian and then a manual systems analyst for Monroe Calculator. Upon moving to Connecticut Janice worked as a computer systems analyst for Ultimate Data Systems. She moved with her family to California where she was a reference librarian for Contra Costa County Library System and retired in 1996. Janice was a member of Eastern Star and League of Women Voters in New Jersey. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and adult coloring books.\n\nJanice is survived by her husband, Ronald Lewis of Lincoln, NE; son, Jason (Brenda) Lewis of Clayton, CA; and two granddaughters, Evelyn and Jenna.\n\nA loving, steadfast wife, a nurturing mother, and a supportive friend to many. Her passing has left a void in many hearts. \n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents.
