Jeannette Adele Brown, 81, passed away peacefully at Tabitha at Williamsburg Seagren House on April 21, 2020. Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jeannette was born April 7, 1939, in Lincoln, Nebraska to John and Olive (Gillespie) Kirby. She loved caring for plants, baking, sewing, cross-stitch, reading, crosswords, antiquing, friends, but most especially, her loving family. She entertained a career as a business manager of several family businesses. She also volunteered for Tabitha Meals on Wheels. But the job she enjoyed most was raising her 5 children and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone who was fortunate enough to encounter Jeannette would tell you she was the kindest soul they had ever met. She had a kind word for everyone and a smile that would light up a room. She was a long-time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in College View.\n\nJeannette is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Jonathan) Roth, Jennifer Porter, Susan Brown, sons, David (Vicki) Brown, William (Cindy, Deceased) Brown; grandchildren Mimi Brown, Mark Porter, Douglas (Emily) Brown, Erin (Bryan) Mauro, Brandy (Bryant) Brooks, Alexander Brown, Nicolette Brown, Aneisha Brown; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Velma) Kirby Jr., Gary (Susie) Kirby and sister, Judy (Lee) Stubblefield; cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, John Kirby Sr. and Olive Trautman; daughter-in-law Cindy Kirby; special friend Dennis Ohnoutka.\n\nMemorials may be directed to Tabitha Meals on Wheels.\n\nCelebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
