We regret to announce the unexpected passing of Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Coleman on June 24, 2023 at 53 years of age. Jeff lived and passed in Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Jeff had lived in St. Thomas since September 2020. Jeff was born in Lincoln, NE on July 19, 1970 to Ronald L Coleman and Kandice Z (Ring) Coleman. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father, and uncles. Jeff is survived by his former wife, Colette R (Headlee) Coleman, son Dylan R Coleman, daughter Crystal C Coleman, mother Kandice Z Coleman, brother Erik B Coleman, uncle Reginald J Nelson, cousins, and an incredible group of friends, co-workers, and acquaintances.\n\nJeff was an outgoing, thrill seeking, adventurer, working in the construction and remodeling industry. Jeff loved meeting new people and making new friends, exploring new opportunities for adventure and business. He enjoyed snow skiing, scuba diving, sailing, fishing, and thrill seeking on 4 wheelers, motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc. Jeff was a skilled builder and carpenter with a strong work ethic. Building custom homes, apartments, commercial buildings, and remodeling projects throughout his career while managing the construction companies he had created. He was well known and respected in the building industry in Lincoln, NE. His work led to projects in Colorado, North Dakota, and Florida.\n\nJeff’s life started in Lincoln, NE when he soon moved at age 4 to Kalamazoo, MI, then shortly after to Mercer Island, WA, Bellevue and Bellingham, WA while his father Ronald Coleman had pursued his career in the medical field. At age 16 Jeff and his family moved back to Lincoln, NE after his father’s passing in 1985. Jeff was 20 years old when he married to Colette Coleman, producing his daughter and son Crystal and Dylan Coleman. Following the birth of his daughter and son Jeff started his first contracting business, which led to his success in the building and construction industry.\n\nFollowing his time in Colorado and North Dakota, Jeff moved to Florida in 2015 and began his new adventure. Purchasing a sailboat and learning sailing. After living in Florida for 5 years he then began his journey sailing to Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands. Which led to many different destinations and experiences along his way. The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico to name a few.\n\nWhen arriving in St. Thomas, VI Jeff enjoyed the island lifestyle and immediately decided to make it his new home. Jeff loved the ocean, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, and island adventures. He quickly made many new friends and began working in the construction, boating, and fishing service industries. Jeff’s friends in St. Thomas knew him as a friendly, hard-working, and easy-going person always willing to lend a hand to people in need and meet new people.\n\nGraveside service will be held at 2PM, Friday, September 1, 2023 at Lincoln Memorial Park. Please meet at Gate 2\n\nThroughout the years Jeff had helped many of his friends, employees, and family in their times of need in many different ways. Jeff will truly be missed by a long list of friends and family.
