Joe was born in Lincoln Nebraska to Lloyd and Ruby (Schaad) Moats. He\n\nlived and worked on the family farm near Princeton Ne. and graduated from\n\nCortland High School in Cortland. After graduation he worked at various\n\njobs including Pepsi Co., Gooch's Mill, and Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.\n\nDuring this time, he purchased an acreage near Bennett Ne. where he\n\nraised cattle. He lived and worked his acreage for 50 years before moving\n\ninto Bickford Assistance Living.\n\nJoe enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, Nebraska football and volleyball,\n\nwatching westerns, playing cards, and being around his family. He also\n\nenjoyed his many historical trips around Nebraska, John Wayne Museum in\n\nIowa, Little House on the Prairie and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota\n\nwith his niece Roxanne and sister Betty.\n\nInterment Highland Cemetery - Cortland, Nebraska\n\nPreceded in death by parents Lloyd and Ruby (Schaad) Moats, brothers\n\ninfant brother Raymond, Glen, Gene, Larry, and Dean\n\nSurvived by brother Robert, sisters, Betty Vidlak, Joyce Neemann, Elaine\n\n(Allen) Ziems, and Janice Fulmer all of Lincoln, many nieces and nephews.
