Leland Ronald Jacobs

Leland 'Ron' Jacobs, age 64, passed away June 4, 2017, after a sudden final illness. Born in Oshkosh, Ron spent most of his life in Lincoln and attended Lincoln High. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1972, was injured and received a medical discharge that same year. Ron was a disabled veteran, a patriot, and a member of both the American Legion and the DAV. Ron worked as a welder for many years. During the 1990s, he worked as a volunteer at KZUM Community Radio, most notably as host of the 'Blues at Sunrise' program every Saturday morning. He was an avid fisherman all his life, and in later years joined the Isaak Walton League and the NRA. Ron was fiercely proud of his ever-growing gun collection.

Ron is survived by his wife, Elizabeth 'Eli' Rhodes, sisters Jolynn Bonebright (Bob) of Martell and Nina Wood of Scottsbluff, his three nephews and their families.
