Logan Christy

–

Lincoln, Nebraska

Logan Christy of Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023, after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on July 27, 1948, in Tarentum, Pennsylvania to James A. and Beulah Gerheim Christy, Logan was a proud graduate of New Kensington High School and Virginia Tech. He retired from the City of Lincoln Planning Department in 2013 after 40 years of service, most recently as a GIS analyst.

Logan was the proud owner of a Ford Mustang, a skilled pool player, an excellent woodworker, and an accomplished needleworker. He enjoyed cheering for the Huskers and the Hokies on Saturday and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. His quick wit and compassion for others made him a cherished friend and mentor. Given his love of music, he was thrilled when both of his girls decided to pursue music. He never missed a vocal or an instrumental performance often driving seven hours without complaint even if it meant listening to only one song.

Logan is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Maggie), daughters Anna Christy of Lincoln, and Laura (Tim) Leitnaker of Cedar Point, KS; grandsons Wyatt and Jack of Kansas; sister Mary Renee (John) Chi of Pittsburgh, PA, and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Ray Swartzendruber.

Graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 3880 L St., Lincoln, NE 68510, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 3:00 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff of NHO and AseraCare Hospice. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
