Michael E. (Mike) Davis

Michael "Mike" E. Davis, 66, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at The Waterford in Lincoln, NE.

Mike Davis was born June 22, 1949 in Fairbury, Nebraska, the son of Guy and Beulah (Kirby) Davis. He graduated from Fairbury High School with the class of 1967 and attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Mike was a police officer with the Lincoln Police Department and served his community for 38 years before retiring. He also worked as an off-duty police officer doing security. Mike was a member of College View Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as a Pathfinder director and was a caretaker of Woodland Acres. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, food, and loved dogs and being outdoors.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Melissa Long and her husband Jeffrey of Ft. Eustis, VA, and Meagan Meininger and her husband Scott of Lincoln, NE; two granddaughters, Rachel Long and Charlee Meininger; brother, Jim Davis and his wife Joan of Grand Island, NE; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Mueller; and three brothers, Kenny Davis, Don Davis, and Bob Davis.
