Paula J. (Bettinger) Joiner

Paula J. (Bettinger) Joiner, 64, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Monday, January 26, 2015, at the Salvation Army Corps Chapel, 2625 Potter St. with Major Jamie Pennington. Viewing will only take place from 2:00pm to 3:00pm for family and open to friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5844 Fremont Street.

Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.

Paula J. (Bettinger) Joiner was born July 20, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Acie Bettinger and Hazel (Nace) Bettinger Riley. She grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln Northeast with the class of 1968. Paula received her degree in nursing from Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. She was an amazing country singer and song writer. Paula and her sisters sang in a gospel choir called The Aces. She was a member of the Salvation Army Corps. Church and served the womens ministry along with volunteering in the food distribution. Paula cherished her family and enjoyed reading and playing scrabble.

Paula survived by Robert Joiner; son, Robert Mueller Jr and his wife Laura of Omaha, NE; two daughters, Linda McGinnis and her husband Steve, and Brenda Starr all of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren, Megan Stringer, Danielle McGinnis, Tara McGinnis, Clinton Mueller, London Mueller, Nicole McGinnis, and Dallas Mueller; two great grandchildren, Isaiah Sellers and Keegan McGinnis; mother, Hazel Bettinger Riley of Lincoln; brother, Acie Bettinger and his wife Linda of Lincoln, NE; five sisters, Fran Tuttle, Carolyn Page, both of Lincoln, NE, Dorothy Ryan and her husband Ernie of Decatur, AL, Elaine Shaffstall of Lincoln, NE, and Mary Mueller of Athens, AL; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Acie Bettinger; two sisters, Ila Maxson and Nancy Mueller.
