Phyllis Elaine Weihe, born on August 3, 1932, in Lincoln, Nebraska, was a woman of immense love, dedication, intelligence, and spirit. She filled her 91 years with a joyous passion for life, always keen on exploring new ideas and spending time with those she cherished. Her vibrant spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the honor to know her and be part of her remarkable journey.
Phyllis was a devoted homemaker, providing constant warmth and stability to her family. Her dedication to her loved ones knew no bounds, and she maintained friendships that spanned decades, some reaching back to her elementary school days. She had an enduring love for art, frequently adding to her collection with pieces from local artists. This love extended into her own creative endeavors, as she found joy in weaving and ceramics. Phyllis also had an inquisitive mind, often delving into genealogical research, uncovering fascinating stories about her ancestry. She was an active member of several local clubs, including the Hand Weavers Guild of Lincoln, the Lincoln African Violet Society, and the Nebraska Order of The Eastern Star. Her commitment to the arts led her to serve as a past board member for the Haymarket Art Gallery.
Phyllis leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her family who she cherished more than anything else. She is survived by her children Scott Weihe, Mark Weihe and his wife Tammy; her grandchildren Jacob Weihe, Kristen Adams and her husband Gordon, Lauren McKey and her husband Austin, Jarred Donahoe and his wife Ali; her great-grandchildren Skye Adams, Hank Donahoe, and Brooke Donahoe. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Ralph Weihe, her parents Faye and Erma Shafer, and her aunt, Mariam Collins.
Phyllis' life was a testament to the strength of love, the beauty of friendship, and the importance of family. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
