Randall Root

Randy Root, 72 years of Lincoln, NE passed away on May 13, 2025.

Funeral services with military honors will be held in Omaha at the National Cemetery on June 6, 2025, at 12:30 PM. Randy was born on October 8, 1952, in York, NE to Billie and Shirley Root.

He married Cheryl Huckeba on September 11, 2024. He was a Vietnam veteran and served honorably in the Army. After service, Randy was self-employed as a mechanic and a commercial painter. His hobbies included trains, woodworking, computers, quilting, and electronics.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Billie (Phyllis) Root, and Shirley (Tom) Fuller; brothers, Rodney Root, Robert Root, and Roger Root; stepson, Ethan Huckeba; as well many other family and friends.

Randy is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Huckeba) Root; Stepson, Quientin (Rachel) Huckeba; 6 grandchildren; siblings, Richard Root, Carol (Ron) Cook, Charlotte Hoban, Crystal (Randy) Moore, Terrie (John) Graves, Cheryl Schelin, Kim Zaloudek and Kerry Robb, Kevin (Cynthia) Root, Russel Root, and Randy (Nancy) Croson; 29 nieces and nephews, 63 great nieces and nephews, and 15 great-great nieces and nephews.
