Sandra Nadine (Sick) Thompson was born on September 29, 1934 in Chicago, IL. She was the only child of Theodore (T.A.) and Mary Sick of Lincoln. Sandra spent her childhood in Lincoln where her family's home was on East Pershing Road. She attended Irving school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. She went on to attend the University of Nebraska and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority there. She was bridal consultant at the downtown Miller and Paine and taught at University High School until she met a dashing young Air Force pilot, George "Barry" Thompson (Air Force, Ret.), whom she married. She lived an adventurous life traveling the world in the Air Force before she and Barry settled in Bellevue, NE where she raised her family and was active in the metro community. She spent the last several years of her life back in her childhood hometown in the loving care of the staff at The Legacy Arbors Memory Care Community.\n\nShe is survived by three children: Col. Scott and Cathy Thompson (Army, Ret.) of Huntsville, AL; Drew and Suzy Thompson of Lincoln; and Teresa McRell of South Lyon, MI, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her parents and husband.\n\nPlease send all memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
