Steven Justin Jones October 26, 1954 ~ June 20, 2023

Steve was born October 26, 1954, in Santa Paula, California to Jake and Bonnie Jones. Steve worked for Constructors as a Project Superintendent in Lincoln, Nebraska. He loved construction where he held many certificates and merits. He truly enjoyed going to work for the company. His passions were western movies, Husker football, motorcycles, his family, friends, and God. He had many hobbies including flying small planes, scuba diving, horseback riding, boating/skiing as well as martial arts in which he taught the Ventura Police Department self defense. He was a hard worker, a caring friend, and an all-around great guy. He adored his grandchildren and looked forward to the times he chatted or hung with at many gatherings and Husker events. Steve was an animal lover and hated seeing any furry creature harmed. He had two horses Cracker Jack and Buck, three dogs in heaven with him now (Dozer, Husker, and Darby), and Kami who is still running around the house looking for him. She was by his side at all times. Steve LOVED gatherings with family and friends especially if games were involved. This was his request for the celebration of his life. He did not want a sad affair, he wanted a fun joyous celebration. His wish will be honored. He is truly loved and missed by all. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents David and Maudine Surber and Noble and Winnie Brehm and his brother Gary Jones. Father-in-Law William Dale Eppley. Steve is survived by his wife Candace Jones of Milford, NE Children: Daughter & Son-in-Law Stephanie Lynn Jones-Velez and Troy of Wichita, KS, Stepson, and daughter-in-law Michael and Meng Fuller of Hong Kong Stepdaughter and son-in-law Echo and Leroy Bell of Lincoln, NE Grandchildren Mercedes Velez, Gage Velez, Casen Bell, Colin Bell, and Vaeh Fuller Great Grandchildren: Legend Velez Parents: Jake Jay and Bonnie Jean Jones (Brehm) of Haviland, KS Siblings: Brother and sister-in-law Doug and Marla Jones of Auburn, NE Sister and brother-in-law Linda and Carl Ballard of Haviland KS Brother and Fiance, Robert Jones and Tonia Soukup of Columbus, NE and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall.
