Viola L. (Sasse Coleman) Johnson, 70, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at her home.\nVi was born on May 19, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii.\n\nNothing that is loved is ever forgotten. She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law and friend.\n\nRemembering her smile, her laughter, her joy of life is her husband, Murray Johnson; son, Mike (Lisha) Coleman; daughter, Wendy (Darrel) Thomas; grandchildren, Zeneya, Taye, Amiya, Darrel, Kalani, and Sophia; brothers, Lee Sasse, and Rennie (Annette) Sasse; and sister-in-law, Teresa Sasse.\n\nVi worked for Municipal Court, the City Attorney's office, Mesa Corporation, Antlers and she was a realtor for 10 years. She worked for Sheet Metal Workers for 20 years until retirement. Vi loved helping people, volunteering at Hospice, Share Iowa, Lincoln Food Bank, but her most important job was "volunteer for anything" grandmother.\n\nShe was welcomed into paradise by her brother Jim Sasse; parents, E. G. & Lila Sasse; and baby granddaughter, Viola.\n\nNo one who has touched a life or brought beauty to the world is ever truly gone. Vi touched many lives with her generosity, her kindness, her gift for fun and her wonderful sense of humor. Her fighting spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.\nShe will be greatly missed.\n\nMemorials may be directed to her family to be distributed to Vi's favorite charities.\nMemorial service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 84th & Pioneers in Lincoln, NE. In honoring her wish for cremation there is no viewing or visitation.
