Wendy Sue Gartner, age 56, died on May 24, 2014 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Born and raised in Lincoln, she was an aspiring artist from an early age. She pursued a liberal arts and classical guitar education at Macalester College before attending the Sorbonne University in Paris, France where she achieved master's degrees with high distinction in both artistic technique and art history. Wendy lived and worked primarily in Paris, France but also in India, Argentina, Mexico, Israel and most recently Coronado, California. Though soft-spoken, her hearty laugh, sharp wit and adventurous spirit made her a welcome friend in homes across the globe. As an instructor of artistic technique and language, she was adored by her International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and adult students. As a beloved sister and aunt she is already greatly missed by all. A private family service will follow and donations should be directed to young aspiring female artists. \n\nWendy is survived by sisters, Deborah Saenz and Julie Marca, brothers Joseph (Jeanne) Gartner, Michael (LoRae) Gartner, Samuel Gartner, and twelve nieces & nephews. Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lois Gartner.
