Wesley H. Tarwater, 90, of Lincoln, passed away on May 6, 2014. He was born on March 16, 1924, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Everett Sidney and Bertha May (Dupree) Tarwater. Wes served in the Navy after graduating high school. He then worked for over 25 years at an automobile repair shop, which he was a part-owner with two of his close friends, the Motor Inn, in Manhattan, Kansas. He then was a surplus property agent for Kansas State University, and then owned and operated his own fire equipment sales and service business. He liked to golf, work on cars and loved to just be outside tinkering. He also enjoyed traveling and owned and flew his own airplane.\n\nSurvivors include his daughters: Gail Koehler, Wisconsin; Marta (Rick) Boyte, Texas; \nKitty (Dan) Elliott, Lincoln, NE; and son, Mark Tarwater, New Jersey; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and close friend, Alice James of Lincoln.\n\nHe was preceded in death by 10 brothers and 1 sister; wife Shirley R.
